2020 Year in Review

January 8, 2021

GRAM knew that 2020 would be a memorable year – we would celebrate our company’s 10th anniversary and proudly open our brand-new, large-scale fill/finish facility in downtown Grand Rapids. What we were never expecting was how immensely the COVID-19 pandemic would impact our country and our industry.

2020 was also a year of tremendous growth as we were tapped to support the U.S.’s pharmaceutical response to COVID-19. Here are a few of the milestones that we were able to achieve:

June 2020:

  • With the opening of a new 60,000+ square foot large-scale fill/finish facility, GRAM more than tripled its existing footprint in Grand Rapids, MI to serve increased client demand in the aseptic fill/finish market. The added capacity, latest technologies, and state-of-the-art equipment have provided flexible solutions to meet the needs of the most complex sterile injectables.

August 2020

  • The U.S. Federal Government selected GRAM as part of Operation Warp Speed to expand fill/finish capacity for manufacturing and distributing vaccines or therapeutics related to the COVID-19 pandemic. From there, media fills were expedited to ensure the new equipment and technology were prepared for manufacturing a COVID-19 vaccine candidate.

September 2020

  • GRAM was called on by leading pharmaceutical giant Johnson & Johnson to support the manufacture of its SARS-CoV-2 vaccine candidate. GRAM is currently helping to ensure that vaccine supply is available to millions of Americans upon regulatory approval.

We credit our success to the entire GRAM team’s ability to quickly open a modern facility with advanced technology as well as our nimble decision-making processes and relentless determination to tackle any challenge.
