QC analytical manager Amy Place leads workshop on implementing and improving a Quality Management System
Amy Place, QC analytical laboratory manager at Grand River Aseptic Manufacturing, participated in the Association of Laboratory Managers annual leadership conference where she led the Implementing & Improving a Quality Management System workshop.
A critical task for lab managers is ensuring that the data generated by their lab is consistent and reliable. Quality Management Systems (QMS) can help identify errors whether human or equipment, thoroughly train staff, and increase confidence in the data.
During the workshop, Amy discussed QMS concepts laboratory managers can use to improve their current processes, why having a QMS is important, creating the right system based on lab size and activity, and getting buy-in across your organization.
The Association of Laboratory Managers (ALMA) was formed “to provide a venue where technical managers can exchange ideas and experiences to acquire the skills needed to effectively manage.” Learn more about ALMA.
