Grand River Aseptic Manufacturing Diverts 30,357 lbs. of PPE from Landfills
On April 21st, 2023, Grand River Aseptic Manufacturing (GRAM) held a sustainability celebration and a local park cleanup ahead of Earth Day.
The celebration and park cleanup brought to life the environmental importance and the impact GRAM employees are making by combining a sustainability celebration with Kimberly Clark and GRAM’s RightCycle™ program achievements with a park cleanup.
GRAM adopted Roberto Clemente Park in April 2020 through the Friends of Grand Rapids Parks to help improve the accessibility and environmental impact of the park and its greenspaces by providing environmental Volunteer Time Off opportunities through GRAM’s GoBeyond efforts, which provide employees with opportunities to engage and support our community.
In 2015, GRAM partnered with Kimberly Clark to implement The RightCycle™ Program. The program has resulted in 30,357 lbs. of PPE waste diverted from landfills, and instead turned into new consumer goods! We look forward to continuing to eliminate the waste we can from landfills through this partnership.
The RightCycle program is one of the environmental and sustainability programs we have here at GRAM. Others include the Organicycle composting program that turns food waste into rich soil, and the adoption of Roberto Clemente Park in Grand Rapids to provide a beautiful, refreshing, and clean space for the community. Past park cleanups have removed a mattress, car bumpers, TVs, and miscellaneous debris covering the park.
Roberto Clemente Park is located across the street from GRAM’s original finishing facility downtown. The park resides directly next to a local public school and includes a soccer field, pavilion, and skatepark. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Friends of Grand Rapids Parks.
